- 1895. GEORGE STEPHEN TILLMAN of (1894) b. 21 January 1725 Prince George County, Virginia, and died 1781 at the Siege of Ninety Six, S.C., while serving as a Captain under Colonel William Washington in the Revolutionary War. M. 1752 Frances Mitchell, b. 7 May 1726 and d. 5 September 1812.
After leaving Virginia they settled Edgefield District, South Carolina.
Children: Lewis, b. 12 March 1753; Littlebury, b. 1 July 1754; Frederick, 11 September 1755; Stephen, b. 5 June 1764, and Jacob, b. 1765 who d. unmarried 13 April 1789.
